Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how GamePickDroid ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and discloses personal information when you visit gamepickdroid.com (the "Site"). We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). GamePickDroid publishes an independent catalog of free Android games; we are not a game developer or an app store.
1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Email address (required) when you subscribe to alerts.
- Name and phone number (optional) if you choose to provide them in the subscription form.
Web-push and device information
If you opt in to browser notifications, our push provider assigns a device/browser push identifier so that alerts can be delivered to your browser. We also attach tags to your subscriber record (for example: domain, name, phone and source) to help us manage sign-ups.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting and analytics tools may record standard technical data such as IP address, browser and device type, referring pages and interactions with the Site. See our Cookie Policy for details.
2. How and why we use it
- To send you the web-push notifications and email alerts you asked for.
- To operate, secure and improve the Site.
- To respond to your questions and requests.
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations.
We rely on your knowledge and consent as the basis for collecting and using your personal information. You may withdraw consent at any time (see "Your choices").
3. Web-push notifications and OneSignal
We use OneSignal as a data processor / service provider to deliver web-push notifications and email alerts. When you subscribe, OneSignal processes on our behalf:
- your email address;
- a device/browser push identifier; and
- the tags associated with your subscription (domain, name, phone, source).
The legal basis for this processing is your consent, given when you tick the consent box and allow browser notifications. OneSignal processes this information only to provide the notification service to us and under our instructions. OneSignal may store and process data on servers located outside Canada (including the United States); where information is transferred abroad, it may be accessible to courts and authorities in those jurisdictions. You can review OneSignal's practices at onesignal.com/privacy.
4. Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Site and deliver alerts (such as OneSignal and our hosting/analytics providers), and only as needed to perform those services. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights.
5. Retention
We keep subscriber information for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal and operational needs. When you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, we remove it from our active systems within a reasonable time.
6. Your choices and rights under PIPEDA
- Access and correction: you may request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it.
- Withdraw consent / opt out: you can turn off browser notifications in your browser settings at any time, unsubscribe from emails, or contact us to withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.
- Complaints: if you have concerns, you may contact us and you have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC).
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here with a new "last updated" date.
